Are these lights any good?

Hello everyone

I would like to start buying lights soon to put up in my shop, 30x40 pole barn, unfinished right now. I was at my local Menards (northern Illinois) and saw some 8' Narrow Tandem light fixtures by Metalux/Cooper. They use four 4' T8 bulbs. Does anyone know if these lights are good or not? Is it a good brand? Thank you for any information you all may have on these lights and brand.

Metalux is a good name brand, you should have no particular issues with them.

I put 9 of those in about a year ago, no problems so far. In fact here's a couple pics from last year.

The same fixture with the lamps a little further apart are easier to work with and provide a little better results.

When you say farther apart do you mean the distance between the bulbs length ways, as in mine are probably 2 inches and others might be 6 inches? That would make sense, I didn't even think to look at that.

Yes. the fixture comes in narrow and in standard. You pictured the narrow where the lamps are about 1/4 inch apart. the standard is slightly wider.

I have 8 of those fixtures in my 30 x 50. Nice light level and distribution, anything more and use a drop light under hoods ect. But the shop seems well lit to me, I like them.
