So I've been lurking craigslist for awhile looking for an old table top drill press. Came across this Atlas Model 63, contacted the seller, stopped by and brought my indicator.
It had .0025" runout with a new 1/2" punch I stuck in it, which I thought was great for the age. Offered him $240 for it, and brought it home. (edited, measured it again with a new punch inserted)
I plan on taking it apart, cleaning it up and painting it.
I tried finding some information on it, but I can't find anything on the model 63. I can't even find an image of this thing with the same cover on it...which maybe this isn't the original one. Maybe a paid way to much, maybe I got a deal, I don't know. Figured I would rather spend it on this then a newer one.
Thoughts, opinions or any info on this model?
