Bought this today at the same auction I was at yesterday. Paid a whopping 20 bucks for it.That motor is a beast, weighs as much as the rest of the unit, maybe more.
That's a good purchase for $20. I was at an estate clearing business yesterday and the lady who runs it said that they usually get more for scrap from these things than people actually buying them.
I don't know if they're "as good" as modern saws in regards to the tech on them, but the quality and durability are definitely there. I have one similar to it and I like it. Very heavy and built ruggedly.
