[Ramper]

This is a Craftsman snap ring pliers (#45488). I have never seen these. People on eBay think they are special . This one has the five sets of tips. It does not seem to screw in and out smoothly (I do not think it was EVER used)

Seems to me like the movement required to unscrew the handle could cause slips on assembly. I may be wrong.
I never saw snap ring pliers like this though.

If they are so great and revolutionary you'd think you'd see a similar style more often.
Maybe a Sears one-of-kind doodad that has shown it has little worth.

I've got a set of those snap ring pliers. Mine are K-D I think, but the same ones.
Once in a while, they are the right tool for the job.

Not just Craftsman, this came in K-D brand also. Not sure if there are more.

I tried them out a few times and they weren't practical because they took two hands to operate.

Good tool for a Craftsman fan though.

X3 on the KD version.. I've got a smaller and larger set. I've had them since the early 80's, and they work well.. A bit tougher to position and screw/open/close (two hand operation as ^), but once you grab the clip they tend to stay engaged and are fairly easy to maneuver. Really good for reinstallation of the loose clip.

I've had a pair of those for years. I think mine are the ones made by KD. Don't get much use but once in awhile they seem the right tool for the job.

I also had a pair of those but they were stolen with my toolbox...

I had the KD (the ones on the right in the above posted photo). The problem is they take two hands and it is tough to keep the little stubs in the snap ring holes and operate the tool. Also, I had trouble keeping the jaws tight holding the different tips. Not the best tool.
