Placed a $175 order for misc. tools the last week of November and still have not recieved any tools. Called them last week and they said it was because of the holiday. Their web site states orders recieved by 1pm ships that day, after 1pm ships next day, didn't mention anything about holidays causing a month delay:confused: . Glad they were not for gifts. Will think twice before ordering from them again.
I read + responses on this site about TTW, and thought I would give them a try.

Did you pay be credit card? If so, I think that you should open a file with the credit card processor. When a company doesn't ship, that means that they are out of product. When they are out of product, and they don't ship partial orders, that means that there is a greater possibility that they will go belly up. I would want to deal with this sooner than later. Once they file for bankruptcy, not saying that they will, but it is a possibility, you become just one of the creditors. Before that happens, your credit card company can reverse the charges for there failure to deliver the goods. Act now, before it is too late. If they get restocked, then you can always reorder. Even ordering with a credit card isn't always a guarantee that you will get a refund.

With the New Years Holiday, you might not want to wait. Who knows what the New Year will bring. If the website showed it "in stock", then it should have shipped. Check to see if they charged your credit card. I believe, but not certain, that they are supposed to ship items within a small time frame after charging the credit card. Might be wrong, but I believe that it is 48 hours. Definitely not a month. Even JC Whitney does better than that!

I can see the holidays making them busier but it should definitely have shipped by now. I placed an order with them the week before Xmas and my stuff showed up beginning of Xmas week.

Some people seem to have problems with shipments from them. I've placed multiple orders with them the past 1 1/2 years and have yet to have any issues. I average an order every 3-4 months.

I'd have given them a couple of days then called up to see what was happening. A week later I would have been cancelling the order, justifiably and legally. I'm not sure what shipping time you normally experience in the USA but in England we have companies that take your order one day, and you'll have the tools at your house the next day.

Making you wait a month is taking the pi$$ and you should be on the phone tearing the management a new one right now.

Ok, since you asked. :) ...and, I see they are fishing for business here.

I placed quite a few trouble free orders with them. Spent quite a bit of money actually, over a period of time. Then, I had a big a/c project to do on my van, so I placed a large order for many a/c related tools, $$$ I get the box, and I am shorted, I mean way shorted, like one thing was in there and everything else was listed as shipped but was not in the box!. The box was sealed and did not appear to have been opened enroute, and it was too small to have ever held everything I had ordered and that was listed as shipped. I had been charged for everything including the shorted items. The box said "one of one", so there wasn't a missing box. So...I call them and immediately I'm assumed guilty until proven innocent. They can't believe it...what? You're shorted all this stuff? YES.

Now, one thing you should know, is that as far as I can tell they farm the delivery of product out to other companies....Weiss i think is one of the actual product stocking outfits they use. So, back to the phone call(s)....the ******* the phone says she will need to VERIFY the shortage by comparing the weight of the box shipped, to the weight of the items ordered. If it checks out, then fine, if not, oh well sorry, nothing can be done. Well, praise the Lord....I had been shorted some items of significant weight. It was clear to me that I would have been screwed had I not had the required proof in the form of the short weight. The shipping weight matched up perfectly with the item that was shipped, had everything been shipped it would have been much much heavier. Ok, they say, they will ship me the shorted items....so...a week or so later, I get a new shipment containing the shorted items....now....for the good part...

One year or so later....I get a threatening letter from them along with an invoice, it said that I had better pay and pay now!, Pay for what? They were billing me, a second time, for the shorted items, that I had already paid for with the original charge to my credit card! Are you kidding? So, I spent several hours on a Saturday, digging up all the receipts, correspondence, shipping info from UPS, and I looked up and documented each items shipping weight, to this I added a letter re-explaining that I had already paid for this stuff, etc....now, having better things to spend my Saturdays on, I asked them in my letter for the guy that was dunning me to verify the matter was closed, at a minimum I expected some sort of half a$$ apology.....I mean here is all the proof, all the documentation, me, the customer, has done all the leg work for you, all you have to do is read.....and what did I get. Nothing.

Right from the get go this thing should have screamed shipping error to them. The item I got originally, was the most expensive thing I ordered.... the items I was shorted, all cost less, if somebody was making up a short, would this be how they would do it?

Anyway, enough for me. If you get your stuff you'll be ok. If you don't... Godspeed.

What BS. Sounds like another case of "the dropshipper *****" syndrome. While it's convenient for online companies to use a dropshipper, you can see what happens. They obviously got incorrect info from the dropshipper or something.

But alas, not many companies house all the tools they have "in stock" anymore and the consumer gets railed from this from time to time.

Sorry for your bad experience.

I sent you a PM requesting the Order #, also if you like I could be reach on the website it's self, just click on Online rep and request to speak to sales rep steve.

LOL we are far from fileing for Bankruptcy, and no C/C are hit until items has been shipped out of the building.

Well if you have been following this thread you know that the tools have been shipped (dec. 22). Ran the tracking # with UPS and it shows "out for delivery" (dec. 27) today, well it is now 8:45 pm and NO TOOLS. I realize this part of the story is out of TTW's control just wanted you know how my luck runs lately.
I will give TTW another chance in the near future and hope the transaction will be a better one! I try not to judge anyone or their business by first impressions. I even made a mistake once, havent you?

I have always found the tool warehouse to be VERY fast with thier shipping. They seem to be a quality place to deal with. Most, if not all of thier stuff comes from WeissToolDistributing (WTD), which is a pretty reputable place as well.

Never had a problem, and it appears like TTW.net takes care of things. My last order arrived in like 3 days

I have bought several times from them and only have had one bad experience. One thing I ordered, showed as in stock, and the sheet showed "backordered". After a while of not receiving it, I contacted them to find out WTH was it? Oh, that part of the order is canceled :wtf: , it shouldn't say back ordered then.

"BACKORDER" On every invoice that state's backorder on it, has the following note " ITEM# is on backorder please reorder!" We will not send an item out 2/3 weeks later because "We" do not know if the customer bought the item somewhere else or still will like to buy the unit from us, or better yet has the money to pay for it.

I understand your stance on the backorder issue, but it is not common to do this (with the places I deal with, anyway). Most places will send it when they get the item in.

If this is your practice, fine - I see no problem at all, but it's apparent that it is confusing to your customers. Perhaps you should find a more clear way to communicate your policy - even if it seems perfectly clear to you, it's apparent it's not clear to everyone. Just a friendly suggestion.

Yea, the "ITEM# is on backorder please reorder!" thing reminds me of those tags you see on the shelves at stores when the item is out of stock. When I first read that, I thought the computer system was telling the store system to order more!

Just curious, when is the user presented with this "reorder" message? Before or after the items are paid for?

From what I gathered from this and the other thread on this topic, the customers are not charged until the item(s) is/are actually shipped - as it should be.

I do commend him for coming on to "defend" his company but I think he needs to clarify a few things......

So what happens if you're trying to hit that $250 limit and one item is backordered? Do you have a chance to add another time? I'd be upset if they didn't tell me until the order was placed, then I'd miss out on my coupon or whatever it is.

At the time, the item that was "backordered" (verses currently out of stock, or reorder/NCA) was what put me over the free shipping limit. I still got the free shipping, my understanding is due to the time the order was placed, it was over the total. I found that out later, when I received my CC bill and paid it off. My invoice, was in at least two pieces, so I didn't see the reorder. The items were in multiple boxes (due to length), and the box with the invoice, was sandwiched in the truck between what I think was more tape, then boxes (horrible wrapping on someone elses package).

You will still receive the customer-appreciating coupon by Via email.
