Found this Barcalo wrench in a co-op store NOS, there were other really old brands like Thorsen there. This is double end open, 7/8" and 25/32".

What vintage is this wrench? Im thinking early 40s.

I believe that your wrench was made until 1941. This page from the '41 price sheet is the last time they appeared. Sorry for the late reply but I was just catching up on Barcalo threads.

Why do you think it is NOS?

I was wondering that too. I have quite a few Barcalo wrenches like that in similar condition, but certainly aren't nos. They were just well made and stood the test of time. Mine did anyways. They came from my grandfather who was a machinist for Remington Firearms here in Bridgeport, CT.

There used to be an old surplus store in Linesville pa, Morrisons. They had tons ( literally) of nos hand tools, barcaloy, vchek were a few I remember. I think some of which are in the shop box at work, some in my garage. when they closed about 10 years ago all that inventory went for pennies, quite a bit went to the scrap yard. another sad end!!!
