Basement epoxy

Floor prepped with Kilz Concrete and Masonry Etcher in basement. I purchased a three gallon kit from Epoxy Plus (metallic). As many have, I've done hours of research. The Kilz did not give the recommended "grit" appearance (60-120), but absorbs water very quickly. Some areas seem rougher, but a majority is more smooth than I feel comfortable. I filled the only cut seam in the room also. I am on the fence about acid etching but feel it will be necessary due to the smoother than preferred surface.
The room size is approx 280 sp ft. I have a roller and squeegee because I have not decided on application yet. Not a notched squeegee because I hadn't planned to make it that thick.
I have some time to acid etch, as the humidity is >85% and temp is a little cooler this week.

Any advice would be helpful!

Etching won't change the feel or appearance much so you won't notice any difference really since the action is at a microscopic level. The product you used should be ok, just make sure the floor is nice and dry. For a basement you should be fine since it's just light foot traffic and no cars and such.

For basements we often supply TPS instead of acid since customer are not comfortable using acid indoors and we have a 100% fine track record of it working fine that way.

Ok, thanks for your insight, I was ready to go get the acid but I REALLY want to get this done! Glad to have so many knowledgable people on here! Ill post pics when I'm done. Do I need to worry as much about the external humidity and temp if it's indoors? My house sits around 65-70 right now. Should I wait until the external humidity is lower? It's been raining for a few days now...
