Basic sealer/protector for garage floor

Hi everyone, I'm new to the site.

Question I have is I'm looking for a sealer for my garage floor. I'm just looking for something very basic that will help keep the concrete water repellent, easier to clean up oil stains, and easier to keep dust free. Also something anti-slip when wet is a must.

I'd like to avoid going the route of an epoxy sealer just for the fact that the floor will see lots of work and take plenty of abuse, and I don't want to have it go to waste. Just the plain concrete look is fine by me if the sealer does the job.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

We have a clear sealer, single component that is resistant to gas/oil.
Combined with our Soft Skid skid proofer you have an great sealer.

Thanks for the info. That looks like something I would like.

Do you mix the Soft Skid in with the sealer or is it sprinkled on top?

Dang. $125 / per gallon. I know that is cheaper than epoxy but I can't see 1 gallon covering a typical 2 car garage

You can mix it in or broadcast into freshly applied sealer and back-roll.

If your floor is an abused mess with pores the size of pimples you will not get the recommended coverage rate.

If you floor is fairly smooth and not very porous, you will.

You get what you pay for in life.

I've got a similiar question. I have a oil drippy Mercedes Wagon that will be parked in my driveway. The driveway was poured in 2006 and is in very good shape. I'm in the process of buying this house. I'd like to seal the driveway before parking the Wagon on it. I live in South Florida, so SUN is all year long! I just want to seal the driveway, if I could pick up a sealer with some Color, that would be good too.

What would you recomend?

You need to treat your drive with concrete acid stain (many colors to choose from) , then coat with our HD-356VOC Sealer.

Closing on this house in the next 2 weeks or so. Do you have any PIX of this surface outside? The Acid stain and the Topical Sealer?

Would something like the HD-365 sealer be good to use on an exposed aggregate driveway? I have been using the regular old driveway seal from Home Despot, but it hardly lasts 6 months - I wish I had the Florida problems of sun all year long, I have the snow covered, shovel it and get salt all over it driveway.

I would certainly be interested in ponying up for something more durable if it will last a good 5+ years.

Are Legacy's colors the same as Kemiko's colors? Their names seem very similiar?

We have a metal-cross linked stone sealer for pavers and stone.
This may be the better choice for your application and will certainly outlast the HD material.

Les: There are some similar colors. That's the extent of it. Chevy and Ford have some similar colors as well.

Les: You would have to remove the paint completely. However, if the concrete was etched prior to being painted you cannot stain, it will not take at all.

Furthermore, if it did take, it would look different than the side that was never coated. Stain does not add color the way paint/coatings do. People like it because it is not consistent.
