Has anyone tried one of these out yet? Seems to be a nice compromised given it's open in the middle, lifts a little higher than the low rise ones, and would still work in a garage with 9' ceilings.

I don't need a full rise scissor lift given my ceiling height, are there any other good options out there for flush mount scissor lifts?

I've thought about maxjax but would rather not use up the space for the posts, would be time consuming to remove both whenever I want to park two vehicles in my garage. I only have 18' wide, 2' of which is used by shelving and stairs to the house leaving me 16' of parking space. I can squeeze two vehicles in when the weather is bad if I don't use up floor space width.

I am in a similar position but with a 1-car attached garage. I have roughly 10'+ ceiling, but only a bit over 12' width and about 22' length to the steps into the house.

I have been looking at a lot of options from the quickjack BL-5000SLX up to the Bendpak MDS-6K (probably will get the driveover unit). I need to use the lift basically right away, and have too many projects right now to do the concrete work to recess it.

This lift seems like a really excellent balance of decent lift height (24-26" more than the quickjack), undercar accessibility, unobtrusive presence in the garage, and basically zero setup time. As a bonus I can probably also install a wheel chock on it and likely use it as a motorcycle lift.

The maxjax or perhaps Triumph low ceiling 2 posts are options, but with my width I would almost not be able to get past the car when the lift was in place, and would then have to remove it so I could use the garage for parking or other uses.

I have looked at a few others including the Atlas KwikBay and the Autolift 6K-MR-38 that is similar. But they both have cross bars on the floor that would impede access and creeper/rolling stool usage. They may be a bit more "portable" but I don't think that is really a big factor for me right now. The KwikBay with shipping looks like it would exceed the best price I have been quotes for the Bendpak. And the autolift would end up being close. The bendpak frankly looks to be the beefiest of them all, by a long shot.

I am about ready to pull the trigger, so any other input would be useful!

Probably not too popular since the lift is low but this certainly serves a great purpose. Especially if you drive sports car or something low.

Since my truck's frame rails are 22" off the ground this one won't get the wheels off the ground.

This one or a std scissor lift should work well for you. If you have get tall jacks stands you can do transmission or exhaust work using a std scissor lift while still enjoying the height capacity. It's those darn cross bars that mess things up but perhaps those tall stands can help.

I was I your situation but ended up ordering the c7000 triumph.

I'm sure you will like what ever you choose. They all have one draw back or another. Cost, size, height, capacity, crossbars.

Buy once cry once.

I tried to order one and could not get it. Every excuse in the book. After months of being lied to I took my money and got an Atlas Kwik Bay 7000. And I LOVE it. It was an easy buy from a helpful company. Shipper was great. The flatbed guy was great. 3 -4 days from phone call to usage.

I ordered a MDS-6KF through Big Boys Garage Toys March 16. Was told that they are building 2-3 per week and my order is out 3 weeks. Was told the flush mount is a new product and currently on a order basis. "IF" timing works as told and not as above poster, it will be perfect for my garage floor pour. I went with this as I can always take it with me should I change houses and I intend to use it for a motorcycle lift as well.

Did it show yet? It's been at least 3 weeks.

They are building them on a per order basis. We just spoke with them this morning on a customer's order and there is a three week lead time.

Just got notice that mine is delayed until July 22nd for some "manufacturing" reason. Not impressed right now. By the time it's shipped and here it'll be mid august, and then probably won't be done installing until sometime in September. Pretty pissed off when I was told no problem, 4-6 weeks. Not 2-3 months.

So got some info back...seems they are revising the units to get CE certification on them. They've removed the pneumatic locks and are using similar locks to the LR-5T, LR-60 and MD-6XP lifts on the revised model. Also the power unit is going to turn into some sort of stand rather than a console. This is causing the delay in manufacturing.

Still upset that I'm not going to have a lift all summer now.

Hi cosmicgigs,

Have you installed the MDS-6KF yet, and what concrete dimensions you are using? I am asking because I saw discrepancy of floor plan layout dimensions. page 9 of the following doc says 65 1/4 inches for the length:
http://www.bendpak.com/MDS-6K-and-6KF-Manual-5900956-02-05-16-WEB.pdf
while this doc says 64 7/8 inches for the length.
http://www.bendpak.com/MDS-6KF-Flush-Concrete-Specs.pdf

Thanks
Francis

Yes my order showed up 4-4-16, 19 days after I ordered. Flawless transaction.

I plan on pouring a spread footing for the lift tomorrow then will place forms on the footing to match the exact measurements of the lift so it will fit perfectly in the hole. Thus far the height is correct (105 mm) as per drawing. If you want I will measure mine to compare to the provided dimensions. I too noticed the differing length/width measurements from Bendpak that is why I elected to order so I had the units to measure exactly incase they either were not the same in width or length compared to one another. Truthfully, I have been dragging my feet on this project but will post pictures for others reference.

Almost word for word line of **** they tried to feed me. I stupidly hung on for months, with them holding my money.

Francis/ Others:

Measurement 64" x 19" for each lift. I would think the 64 7/8" would give you a safe 3/8 inch on each end. I will make my holes 64 3/4" give or take by 19 3/4". 641/4" would be a little tight in my opinion just in case the lift does not come out of the hole correctly or off center.

Hi cosmicgigs,
When you post pictures for the installation, could you please provide some pictures of where you place the flow divider, and how you route the hydraulic hoses?
Thanks!
Francis

Delayed again, August 18th lol apparent reason is the pump units are on a ship that hasn't arrived yet.

I think I'm going to ride this out to the end, it's almost becoming a bad joke!

Yep I would too. Frustrating as heck though.

As my buddy said right after I declared I had to cut dig and pour new slabs for my two poster. "Your patience with this project is amazing."

Thing is, I would actually have probably already asked for my money back and gone with a different lift but there aren't any I want instead. There aren't many mid-rise flush mount scissor lifts out there and most of the full rise ones are either a) from some chinese company that will not be around in a couple years making support impossible or b) way too expensive.

In the end, I don't *need* a lift, this was a luxury for me with the new house and garage...I've lived without one for years and it's never stopped me from doing a job, but having one will be very convenient. I'm just hoping I can get it here before it gets too cold out.

Plenty of us don't *need* lifts, but once you get it in place and working :D

I should have pulled the trigger years ago.

Good luck with this one. I would have gone this route as well but didn't have the patience to wait (went with the Atlas Kwik Bay).

Well...it's here. Ignore the messy picture, I quickly ripped open the packaging so I could inspect the lift before the driver left.

Few scuffs in the paint, but no major damage. They sent floor pans which aren't needed on the 6KF but at least sent the right end caps and not the end ramps like the 6K, so all parts accounted for.

What a pain in the *** getting it off the truck though. It wouldn't fit on the liftgate with the pallet jack he had, so had to use the engine hoist and floor jack to wiggle it off. Took a half hour to unload it, should have taken 5 minutes...and I paid an extra fee to have residential delivery that I shouldn't have had to do squat to get it off the truck.

Oh well, the long wait is over.

I know this thread has been dead for a while, but I was wondering if you guys who got them had finished getting them installed and working? Was looking at this lift for my new house build, and other than sites selling it, this was one of the few links/threads out there with actual experience with the product.

Was it worth the wait/hassle? What ItsNemo said about it being the only cost effective, non-chinese, mid-rise solution is dead on from what I am finding.

also late on your response. I got mine fairly quickly. Faster than I was told in fact. I still have yet to install it or use it, but I am getting awfully darn close. (newborn issues are over)

Haha I totally understand newborn issues, thanks for the reply. I'm still trying to figure out what lift to get. Would prefer a flush mount scissor lift for it being out of the way when I don't need it. My builder thinks I'm nuts, but he is old school, and hasn't done it before.

I've been looking at the 6K and 6KF and confirmed with Bendpak that neither are available any longer. They've been replaced with the 6LP and 6LPF (Flush mount). Evidently the platforms are larger. I think they also cost about $400 more than the units they replaced.
