I've been using the cheap plastic ones but they soon lose the ability to lock the blade either open or closed and thus are difficult and unsafe to use. Usually throw them away long before I use all of the blades. Looking for a better made one. Prefer the 18mm blade. What would you suggest?

NT Cutter & Tajima are good options. But I still use Olfas who invented snap blades? At work I use a cheap Workpro. 18mm is my preferred blade size.

Personally I use the Tajima DC560 driver cutter with the Tajima Razar black blades most. Very reliable, works also great with 18mm jap. saw blade. Mine is branded from one of my industrial suppliers, but in the end it’s a DC560.

Kind regards,
Olli

Currently using Knipex CutiX. The magnesium handle is very strong and lightweight and the stabilization bar has been nice the few times I needed it for heavy cutting.
I like OLFA, especially the blades, but a lot of the handles feel like a toy instead of a tool.
