What's the best quality general purpose air hoses out there. I'm looking for a 3/8"x50' to put on a reel. Weight and bulk doesn't matter. I'll be using it in and around the garage. I'd like what I get to be flexible and durable. I'm thinking a Goodyear rubber hose.

Goodyear is good. Stay away from the Harbor Freight hose!!

No, Goodyear is great. Never had a Goodyear fail on me and have 6 different sizes/lengths. Had HF whip hose fail the second I hooked it up. Goodyear hoses are all over eBay for great prices. My go to is a 3/8" hose with 3/8" threads. Then I use 3/8" body automotive plugs and couplers. I use 1/4" thread X 3/8" body coupler plugs in the small tools that use 1/4" thread fittings. USA made Tekton also get good reviews, but never used one.

If you want a "Factory" made hose, I'd HIGHLY Suggest going with a Polyurethane hose. My 2 "everyday" hoses are a 1/4" Bostitch Prozhose and a 3/8" SnapOn which my SO guy gave me.
Both are extremely light, super flexible and honestly the only thing I can say is I love em both. Without a doubt I'd just buy a nice Polyurethane hose.

That being said, I also stock and make various air hoses using Pushlok fittings and a mix of Gates & Parker hoses...If I were wanting a rubber hose I'd go Gates or Parker..not a superfan of Good-For-A-Year products, the only GY product I ever bought & liked were the Gatorback belts...now they've sold off that line to Contential, I can honestly say I'll never have to buy GY anything again.

Just don't buy those cheap orange hoses! I have a couple hundred feet, and they were OK for building the house, but I need something much better in the shop. They are completely unmanageable below about 50 degrees. They've held up to a lot of abuse, though. I keep them stored on a garden hose reel, and will keep them if I ever need to air up a tire 200' from the shop.
