I'm thinking of buying a 36" drum fan, belt driven, for air circulation and ventilation. Tractor Supply has them for $199. Would anyone recommend a different kind/type of portable fan?
Dave I would recomend a squirrel cage out of an old furnace usually free and they move plenty of air . I have several to choose from and so do several of my neighbors now .
Thanks Rick. I actually have a SC fan that came out of one of my old air handlers. I forgot I had it. I'll need to rig up some sort of mount to make it portable though.
I have used both old furnace SC fans and a belt driven of apx. 36 inchs.
I found both just made too much of a breeze.
Now I just use a drug store window fan.
Light and easy to move around, adjustable speed, and cheap.
In a normal size garage a 36" fan is going to feel like a hurricane even on low. I have one & it blows real well thru my shop which is 40x48x14 even on hot sticky days that you can't feel a 20" box fan more than a few feet away. Even though it's on wheels it isn't really that portable, it's more something to find a place for & not move very far or often.
