BIG bandsaw placement?

I just bought an old do-all 36" bandsaw and would like to see pics of how others have positioned bandsaws in their shop.Lets hear the ideas on placement

if you have limited space then you want to install it with the left side to the wall so you have as much clear space for use as you can get.
you may also want to install it closer to the door so you can handle long items if you need to.
I like having my stuff portable so I would look at building a custom mobile base to go under it

I thought about making it mobile but at 2000lbs I didnt know what I could do that would be safe. Overall Dimensions Approx. 45" L-R x 80" F-B x 76" H

Got any good ideas?

I canted mine slightly so that the overrun would go through the doorway. I have never cut anything that long but you never know...

I would second putting the column side against a wall if possible and close to center on a wall so you have as much room as possible both ways. Kinda like centering the table saw in your work area so you can have hangover on all sides except you don't ever need it on the column side .

I found a good deal and couldnt resist.I love old usa machinery.Other than needing a paint job and buying a 3 phase converter its ready to go.Im picking it up next week.I havnt figured out how to get it off the trailer yet; or move it around in the shop ,but I'm looking forward to it
