I have a 15" fan that was used to inflate a gorilla like you would see at a car dealership to attract people.
It has 3 speeds but on #1 speed is way to much.
Went home depot and bought a dimmer switch.
The dimmer switch has 2-black wires and 1-green wire.
The fan has 1-red,1-brown,1-blue,and 1-black wire.
The red and blue wires are on one side of the switch and black and brown on the other side.
How do I hook it up?

You CANNOT use a dimmer switch to slow down a fan motor, you need a proper motor speed controller. The amp draw of that motor will burn up the light dimmer in a flash.

Light dimmers just lower the voltage going to the light fixture. Do that to a motor and you will kill the motor and the dimmer.

You say the fan is 3 speed. Does the 3 speed selector switch on the motor work?
