"blue point" vs "regular" snap-on

I'm sure this has been bashed around but I thought I'd post as it's Friday and I'm feelin lazy. I'm considering buying a snap on blue point 1/4" ratchet. I have chrome 3/8 and 1/2 and need a 1/4. Aside from a big difference in price, what's the difference in quality and warranty?

Pretty much. If you are going to be happy with a Blue Point ratchet, I would suggest going to HD and buying a nice Husky instead. Save yourself some $$$.

Check the local Pawnshops for a Snap-on Air Ratchet..I stopped into the local pawn america here and picked up another 3/8 racthet its a Snap-On
Its an FAR72C for $25 had the guy test it..took it home works perfect..in really good shape I didnt go in looking for one but it was a good deal..they also had a Kennedy Roll cab their I wish I had the cash for..lol

BINGO. Husky has a quick release teardrop ratchet that is damn nice, and pretty cheap too. If your goin' cheap, buy the husky. I actually really like craftsman for 1/4 ratchets. The regular cheap one has a nice feel to it.

While some Blue Point tools might be made overseas, many Blue Point tools, wrenches are an example, are made here in the US. Same forgings as the SO, they simply don't polish them as much and use a dull chrome finish. I think the basis for these are the stampings that are used for the black finish industrial wrenches, they save money by not having to finish them as good.

Blue Point also covers other tools that may be made anywhere. Such as KD, Lisle, etc. It is just they are not made by Snap ON.

S/O drills are very comparable to Triumph twist drills but are marked snap on as well you can see it in the Trinado and Thunderbit

S/O are great drills but at that price, i would rather pay this for a set of the same

As for their blue point ratchets, they are part of the JH williams line, Looks the same to me

i own snap on axle rethreading for all model (for Cv joints and pinion threads) Kaster sell it for 99.00 dollars while my snap on guy sold me for 85 dollars with snap on name on it....
