Boiler Enclosure

The boiler/water exhanger and water softner is in the corner of my garage and I want to box it in.

I am struggling to come up with something that takes the least room, encorporates some storage (shelving) and allows fairly easy accessability .

The main reason I want to so this is to protect everything from paint dust, welding/grinder dust, etc.

The boiler draws the air from outside and clearance needed is 4" from sides, 1" from back and front, 18" from top.

Anyone have ideas? Building a "box" around everything isn't too bad, but I can't think of an easy way to make it open up???

how about mobile screens with the panelling inside and the framework exposed for shelving storage...........maye use velcro for seams?..........beleive me the workman[or you] that has to do anysevicing will thank you

how about framing in a closet with double opening doors and install you compressor in the same closet.
looks like you would have room for one shelf above all the stuff

Too bad it's so spread out, makes it tougher.

How about build a "room" that covers it, but put the whole thing on wheels so the whole cover can be rolled away when needed?? Figure out some latches to latch it to the wall.

Just my .02. I would build a closet around the boiler and the tank(floor to ceiling) and leave the piping and relay to the left exposed. Just notch the closet around where the copper will pass through. Dust wont hurt the relay or the piping.

how about you do a workbench with sink where ther pipes are.
cover the pipes with a removable piece of pegboard

Coming from an hvac guy, what ever you build make sure there is room to work/ replace the equipment. One day something will go wrong with it, and some one will have to fix it.
