bought my first house for the garage!

Hey everyone! Ive been snooping around on here for a while soaking up inspiration and I'm proud to say I just bought my first house. A major consideration was the garage of course, and I let the realtor know to not even bother showing me houses without at least a 2 car.

Well I found one with a 3 car with a 2nd floor as well. Huge for the area I'm in. I am planning on removing the ceiling in the far left bay to allow space for a lift. Until then however I am very content.

First, let me show you what I was working with before...

yeah...thats a 20ft sea container. not a lot of room to work with.

Now jumping to this!

Sooo much more space! I love it.

On the short list is some sort of flooring treatment (worried about how epoxy would hold up to kickstands), more lighting in the separated bay, and the lift.

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome!

I bought my first house based on that fact that it was the only house in my price range that came with a garage of any kind, always a top priority! Congrats!

I used the RustOleum brand Epoxy-Shield. It has held up OK. I should have gotten the product that had the clear coat included. A little late now. I have two bikes, my 04 BMW RT weights 650+ lbs and my wife's 06 VT750 Aero at just over 500 lbs. The floor shows no significant marks from her bikes side stand. However my BMW side stand will smear the color flecks. The center stand will also leave very noticeable marks. It is sliding slightly over the surface getting the bike up and down. I got a carpet square and park atop that now.

Would the clear coat have helped, I can't say yes for sure, but it is something to think about. You have much smaller/lighter bikes, it might be fine up to 400 lbs, I'm not sure. Once the weather turns here, I will get back outside, and get some photos and do a floor update.

I would do terrible things for a garage like that.

-mine is a standard (1930s Austin 7 sized?) garage in the UK. I'd have to move to somewhere way out in the sticks (ie. Northern Scotland!) to get something like that for an affordable price.
