:) Sounds like a great idea. Daily they have been asking me to build something else with them.

There has been serveral threads on kids tools and starter project ideas. One idea I like was to check out your local Hd for their Sat Free kids projects. The little one usual get an apron and hands on project like a bird house or feeder, small shelf, something they can glue and hammer together with Mom or DAD. Great way to bond with the tike and then go hog wild buying in the store.

Nice bench probably built better then any of those cheap premade or put to gether ones you see at the local stores. Its ausome you let your kids help you out, they will be thankfull for the memories one day. :)

Built me a bad *** work bench! Its like 95% done. I gotta attach the rear board, attach a long power strip under the front lip, attach it to the wall, and install my vise. I may throw a coat of deck sealer on top too. Your build up inspired me, but I went with a slightly different frame build. It was easier this way to get the bottom shelf in, although I do think your way looks a but cleaner. This is a 2'x8'x43.5" bench... I'm 6'9"

Great job on the bench. Looks very sturdy. I love to see people involving kids in their projects. That is so neat. I love the Gulf blimp too. It's a twin to my Goodyear I have hanging.

I would use the Wilton in the center, the other 2 would bolt thru the front 2 X 4 and the back bolts thru the top, besides it has a chrome handle. Mount the heavy vise to a heavy stand alone stand. Remember to mount the vise with the fixed jaw in line with the front of the bench so when clamping long stuff vertical in the vise the bench won't be in the way.

I am looking for the goodyear one now. My girls have been asking to build something else for the last week. I will have to come up with something to build. Thanks for the kind comments.
