Bulb Options

Any suggestions for 22x24 garage with 4 medium sockets? I have 2 4' fluorescent shop lights hanging off of the front two, but would like something better than a 100w or compact fluorescent for the two above where the oh door opens. HD has halogen par 38 or incandescent reflectors that may work.

Not trying to rag on you....but THAT question has been asked 'many' times...

And based on the wording of your question.....there are about 100 answers.....

Never thought of taking a picture of a medium light socket to help you visualize what is a very simple setup. Imagine a light socket, on a ceiling, what kind of bulb provides better light than a 100w incandescent?

I looked through the last 10 pages of this section of the forum before posting, I couldn't find answers to the 100 times it has been asked going back that far. Guess I'll do a search and see if that enlightens me more.

It's not the light socket......it's 'where' the light socket is located......

If your really wanting more light, then you need to get away from the "light socket" concept.....start thinking EMT and conduit....

But if you want to stick with the Edison (light socket), do a search on 400W cfl.

Old school and cheap too, the price of those 1000 watters is really attractive compared to the cfl. The min start temp on the cfls is not bad at 0 deg F.
