Burner nozzle

My Beckett burner for my hot air oil furnace calls for 0,90 GPh 70-A I was only able to find a 0.90 70-b can I use this burner nozzle? The only other one I found was 0.85 70-A would this make a big difference?

It absolutely does make a difference with A or B that describes the pattern of the nozzle. The numerical designation is btu equivalent. 140,000btu / gal of oilX .85 or .75= net input. The 75 will likely be ok BUT you need the filter replaced, the chamber cleaned and the combustion set up properly to get the right bang for your buck. It pains me to say this as I was on the NFPA 31 Committee for 15 yrs, but oil is about the most expensive heat you can have today. I had a lot of oil folks add mini-split heat pumps and see savings of 70% over oil.

Yes...as long as you do the full set-up. If you are planning on only changing the nozzle and crossing your fingers YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED! What are you planning on doing here?

Soot is a bad thing and gets exponentially worse as it builds up. Definitely get it adjusted if you change things.
