I don't see where the OP mentioned where the panel is located or if it is within sight.A breaker or switch will suffice if it is visible and within 50' from the VFD

Perhaps he's verifying that things work correctly before putting it all in a box where things are harder to change.Sorry to be harsh, but that exposed wiring looks like ****, the VFD should be in a enclosure.
It looks like typical DIY VFD install, have described it as like mounting a receptacle by driving a couple of nails in a stud & bending the nails over before.Perhaps he's verifying that things work correctly before putting it all in a box where things are harder to change.

Great point. It actually stops much sooner than I would expect, given the mass of these wheels, so I can't complain.Check your manual... the braking effort is generally programmable. Since the grinders probably weren't designed for reverse torque from the motor, be careful about loosening the retaining nuts w/ excessive braking effort. I remember these units taking minutes to slow down...
+1VFD should be in an enclosure.
