Can you put roll over loose fill insulation?

I have loose fill fiberglass above my ceilings, about 10 in deep, so it completely covers the 6" joists.
Can I put fiberglass rolls over this?
(ie the roll will not be resting completely on the joists, but instead on the loose fill)

I understand this will compress the loose fill....

Since you are in Texas I would think 10 inches of loose fill would be plenty of insulation. Yes - the loose fill would compress and reduce the effective R value. I think adding above that would be more expense than it would be worth?

FG batts are pretty sad insulation, esp when left out exposed like that. They leak like crazy (hence that stuff is used for air filters). If you want more insulation, I'd just blow in more, and I, personally, would use cellulose. It is more dense and will therefor stop air movement better. More "green", too, by a long shot. Repels rodents and bugs, too, and is a fire retardant. Whatever.... batts are a poor choice; leaky, can't fit them tight, etc. That is my take on the deal.
