Good evening, GJB. I'm new to this site and need help finding a chuck key for a bench drill press I inherited. I have literally spent 3 hours searching online for the correct chuck key for this machine, to no avail. The drill was manufactured in 1983, by Guardian Power Products (Taiwan), Model # BDM-58-5SP. It has a 1/2 HP motor and the spindle markings are as follows: UP=JT3=0.5-16=1/32-5/8. I'm not sure of the key pilot size and I NEED HELP!! Thank you in advance.

can you post a picture of the chuck? the only chuck keys I have ever seen are a big one for drill presses and BIG drills, and a smaller one for 1/2 drills and a smaller one for 3/8 drill.

When I had bought a drill press (also Taiwanese) with a 5/8" chuck (missing chuck key), I searched using the numbers on the chuck. Mine happened to be :

RJ3-16L Chuck Key
