Like the title says im having to rebuild my carport due to rotted wood and storm damage. I currently have all the siding underneath torn down and trying to thing of thing i might be able to add to make working under there better. Currently looking at an oscilating fan to mount to the truss and adding light as there currently isnt any on the ceiling. Was thinking of adding some type of anchor system to make removing the top on the k5 a 1 man job. Also there is no power so will be throwing some power outlets on the house side and possibly adding air lines as my compressor is on the exterior wall of the garage. Anything else you can could think of while all this is apart?
The front 1/2 of the brick is my garage and the second is the kitchen and the breaker panel is on the other side of the door.
Plan is to put an 8 foot gate on the front and back and put mesh screen on the side with the poles. I have a parts washer, sand blast cabinet and 20 ton press currently in my 2 car that im going to put out in the carport to free up room.

Where is the carport? If you are in a hurricane or tornado zone you may need to consider your local climate.

Not being familiar with a K5, I can't comment on the anchor you will need to keep it moored.

Where is your breaker panel in relation to your proposed construction?

Will your local codes allow this modification?

The carport is already there, im just rebuilding the roof as the wood is rotted out. There is nothing i have to worry about with zoning. The breaker panel is on the other side of the power meter thats in the picture, just in the other side of the white door.
The picture in my op shows the carport from the driveway.

Sounds like a solid plan. The mesh screen on the sides I keep removable. I would also reinforce 1 or 2 ceiling joists and make a gantry type lift with extra side supports. I'd be lifting a body off a chassis but it could easily handle the k5 top. It also provides a place to hang stuff for washing, blasting and painting if your into that.
