CEBORA Pocket Mig

My FIL had this small Mig welder don't know much about it. Was curious if it still worked wire feeds gas may be leaking a bit but seems to work. I tried a small test weld and kept getting a spark and wire would break off. The spool did seem to be rusted a little may need new wire and possibly a new torch. My MIL said I could give it to one of my buddies who would get some use out of it if he could get it working. I brought it upstate with me and will give it to him tomorrow. I'm sure he will be thrilled.

Was tempted to keep the tank lol but I have a similar set up already and he could use it more than me.



Has what appears to be a homemade cart. Giving him and old mask and some gloves as well.



Anybody know anything about this welder? I know it's small/low power but hopefully decent quality for what it is.

I believe that Cebora is a major brand in Europe and made in Italy. They are known in America for their autobody welders which are heavily advertised in the autobody trade journals. That welder looks to be very old as their new stuff is a lot more stylish.

Yeah I'm guessing 1970s or 80s. Everything seems to work aside from the wire breaking off. Tank was stamped 2015 and seems to be full.

Yeah he's going to be happy I think. He went through a nasty divorce about ten years ago and moved all of his tools out to one of his buddy's warehouse. Unfortunately the warehouse burnt to the ground and he lost everything. Still rebuilding this will help.

Thanks. $35 at a Swap meet. I have another one but it's missing the trigger nozzle I got for free at a Swap Meet. No luck locating one.

I can't comment on the welder, but welding wire can go bad over time. I haven't experienced it, but have seen posts on other forums where this was the issue with crappy welds that couldn't otherwise be corrected. If the wire looks bad, and it welds poorly, tell your friend to get a new spool to save himself frustration.

Yeah if just gave it to him he said he was just going to buy a new spool of wire than mess with it.
