Howdy! I am going to install a prolux shop vac, (https://proluxcleaners.com/products...garage-vacuum-shampooer-blower-and-detailer-1) mounted just outside my garage under a lean-to next to my air compressor. I plan to pipe through the wall and then split b/w a hose reel and also send hardline about 6 ft to an area where I drop a lot of drilling/cutting and then a second hard line over about 10-12 ft to my mill/lathe area. Note the unit will be mounted exactly opposite wall of the hose reel so relatively short run.
Note this is not "dust collection" per-say as I do not really do much wood work. This is mainly random shop debris, and chips/etc not 'dust'. I do most of my wood work outside for that reason.
Plan us to use standard 2.5 shut off gates at each station.
Need some input on a few items:
1) Recommended cyclone type dust separator. Note it will be mounted under the lean-to with my compressor. Prefer one with built in collecting basket.
2) PVC pipe sizing. I am thinking 2.5" then neck to standard 1.5" right at the end for velocity.
3) hose reel recommendation
My main concern is that the hard pipe is planned to run along the ceiling, but that means a ~6-7' drop to the working area. I know this is common in super high CFM dust collection, but will this work in the environment I described above? I would REALLY prefer not to have the pipes running lower for aesthetics (heck, I plumbed my air compressor into the walls)
