I have an antique Philadelphia 1/2 Ton chain hoist that I cleaned up & repaired.
The hoist was the color of rusted cast iron but when I took it apart I found blue paint on the block underneath the drive wheel that appears to be "Ford Engine Blue".
This hoist was made by the Philadelphia Chain & Block MFG. Co. I can't find any historical info. on this company. While I've got it apart I figured I'd paint it the original color. Does anyone have any information on this company?
