Huh???? First I've heard of them... link?

As far as power tools, I think that you would be better served buying these items from an established brand with actual support rather than a badge-marketed generic power tool (gut feeling).

I've never heard of them either, but have to agree with your sentiments here.

I mean, how good can a $50 24V drill be?!

Channellock would be well-advised to stick to what they do best - make a high-quality plier.

They whored their name to those mediocre mechanics sets recently, and all that does is diminish the value of their brand (IMHO)...

Yeah, but at least their pliers are still good.

Unfortunately, I think that whoring one's brand name out in today's world is a brand recognition strategy that may be linked to simple survival. Hell, even Snap On is doing it... wanna see my Snap On gloves from Ace hdwr?

BTW... I like my Snap On gloves from Ace hdwr...

And Harley-Davidson does it too, but at least HD seems to insist their licensed products be of high quality: Bahco for tools, Bulova for timepieces, Franklin Mint for knives (at least in the past), etc...

No mention of them on the Channellock website, where it still says "Made in the USA since 1886".

Seems like they have some 'splainin to do.

Well I got this drill for Christmas. It has been a fine drill, until this morning, I went to charge up my 24V battery on my 1 hour charger and found the charger doesn't work. I opened the housing and the soldered fuse is intact. This drill has been really good to me since Christmas. I have casually used it around the house. The first week I take it to a construction site, it survived two days. I didn't even over work it at all. Now I am trying to find where to service/replace the charger.

My poor wife always listens to me about name brand tools....
I still haven't told her about the charger.

anyone found any information on it yet?

They are supposed to have a one year warranty according to the specs I saw. I would give Channelock a call. They should be able to point you in the right direction even if they have just licensed their name out to another party. I see Sams club still has these for 49.99.

I read in another forum that these were made by Allied International, but I have not verified this info.

because ford is the best selling pickup for the past 15-20 years.
you know what they say...if you think you want a truck but a chevy, if you NEED a truck to use it buy a ford

I bought my husband the channel lock 24 volt drill from ebay. We love it. Believe it or not it's not as heavy as you would think it would be for such a drill. I have used it many times and it is great. I was a little skeptical at first too as I had never heard of a drill by channel lock. I do not regret for a second getting it. Sure beats paying $120 for a 14volt Milwaukee with one battery.
