Chraftsman 150

I have an "extra" 150 that needs a new motor and probably a new chuck. I already have a good 150 and was thinking of using the non working one as a grinder stand after removing the head. My question is do you think the base pole And table would work right as a grinder stand? I have not put a grinder on it but I am concerned that it may be unbalanced and the table to big for a 8" grinder. Press is a floor model.

IMO, the base, column and table from a Craftsman bench drill press work better with a grinder than the Craftsman grinder pedestal stand. It's the same height, but it's heavier and has a 50%(?) larger footprint making it much more stable.
