clamps for a bed rack.

I was looking at ladder racks on usrack.com and came to the conclusion that for a bout 60 bucks I can build a $399.00 rack! Im looking at building the individual racks that go in the front and rear of the bed. Mostly for hauling canoes. I know I can rig up a bolt for the stake pocket but I need to make a clamp for the other end of the angle iron. Im going to use about 16" of angle on each leg. Anybody got any designs of clamps that will go underneath the bed rail to clamp?

I would maybe check with a cap place, they will have clamps I am sure, probably get some used ones for cheap.

Had an old Dodge P.U. and needed a (temporary) cap installed in a hurry, so it was held on with six 4" "C" clamps. Turned out to be not such a temporary gig after all and was like that for more than ten years. Never went anywhere in that time.
