Cleaning VCT

For some reason I cannot get the search to work for me. I just installed my VCT over the weekend, and now Im looking for the stuff to clean it . I have been told I need a stripper, sealer, wax and a polish. Im thinking the wax and the polish are the same thing. I bought the excelon polish at lowes, (thats the brand of tile I bought, excelon armstrong) but the only stripper I could find was for a no wax tile. I sure could use some help on what exactly Im looking for fellas. Help me .......

If you have never waxed the floor, you don't need to use a stripper. Stripper is to remove the old wax and dirt.

I always used Johnson Wax Products, their Professional Series on my Armstrong VCT garage floors. For best results all the old wax and dirt needs to be removed first. Using Johnson’s Professional Floor Stripper with my Low RPM 20” polisher with a red pad. It’s most important to rinse floor several times with clear water after stripping. After drying, then hand apply Johnson’s Professional Floor Finish (wax) with a mop. Once dried I bring out the High RPM 20” floor polisher using a white buffing pad, misting with Johnson’s Professional Maintenance Buffing Wax. In higher traffic areas, this spray buffing will bring out the luster between semi-annual or annual stripping. My garage floors always looked great!

VCT floors are a lot of work,, that’s why I went to epoxy floors this time around.

I finally found some useful info on the armstrong site ( they make it real easy to find what your looking for ) ....... They claim that the excelon tile uses some type of finish from the factory reducing the need for anything but a polisher and or sealer
