First, my garage's "stats":
Size: 19x39 (741 sq feet)
Age: At least 50 years
Condition: mostly smooth, some rougher areas, a few cracks.
Intended use: parking cars and atvs, light wrenching (will use jacks), place to drink beer
Location: Cincinnati area
I want to put a clear, glossy sealer on the floor to repel water and spills and improve the look of the floor. I am not interested in epoxy due to expense and how easily it can be damaged (vs. difficulty of repair). If I scratch a sealer, I can touch it up and it will look new within seconds.
I am considering:
-AcryliSeal 3501 by Wolverine ($250/5 gallons). Water based acrylic sealer with nanotechnology.
-HD-6415 from Legacy Industrial ($349/5 gallons). Solvent based acrylic sealer.
-Eagle Supreme Seal from Home Depot/Lowes (~$100/5 gallons). Solvent based acrylic sealer.
I began considering Home Depot option because after reading the data sheet from Legacy Industrial (as well as of the product they claim theirs is similar to, Luster Seal 350 by Euclid) and comparing it to the Eagle product, I noticed that:
The Eagle product has the same weight per gallon (7.5) as the Euclid product, as well as the same solids percentage (25%). The Legacy product has 28% (+/-2%), 21% (+/-2%) by weight, volume respectively. So let's say around 25 as well.
I know "consumer" products get knocked on here a lot, but when the stats are the same, is it really worth paying over 3x more for something?
