Just a heads up…. We just purchased 48,000 square feet of product manufactured by Daytona Sport Court with a private label brand name logo in the center of the tile. We are not allowed to say who the brand name is, but if you look at the page name, you may be able to figure it out.

We normally sell Daytona sport court for $2.89 a square foot (Delivered). We are selling these clearance tiles below our normal delivered cost. $1.75 per square foot delivered! They came out of the same piece of equipment at the same factory using the same plastics. The coins are a different size and they have a logo (very small) of the brand name. That is the only difference.

THESE are not seconds they are brand new direct from the manufacturer to you.

OK, Good News, Bad News on the samples. Right now we can not send out samples of this tile… BUT, you can order a sample of our Sport Court Coin Pattern. The two tiles are identical in function, plastics and engineering. They come out of the same machine. The only difference is a different top plate is used to create the logo and a slightly smaller coin.

Swisstrax is ABSOLUTELY a better tile. We have that too at about $3.50 a square foot. If I was doing my garage, and if money was not an issue I would buy Swisstrax. I like the pattern better, I like the plastics better and it is a better locking system. BUT if I was considering buying the cheap discounted retail tile, this is a MUCH better option.

If I recall correctly, the sample the local Garage-Tek dealer brought by was much more flimsy than other samples I got from other companies like Swisstrax and Race Deck. Also the color was kind of dull? not sure though, it has been well over a year ago. Why not buy 1 tile and see?

No, I would not say Putty is the same as Beige, but it is kind of grey-beige cross. I've got a good color sample on the website.

As to the comment made above:

"If I recall correctly, the sample the local Garage-Tek dealer brought by was much more flimsy than other samples I got from other companies like Swisstrax and Race Deck. Also the color was kind of dull? not sure though, it has been well over a year ago. Why not buy 1 tile and see?"

I would again say that the Swisstrax tile is a MUCH better tile. I am not going to comment about this tile versus the other brand mentioned which I don't sell. That’s simply not good business. I will say that we sell a lot of the Sport Court product; in fact a good percentage of our warehouse is filled with it. We have very few problems and the problems we do see are problems you are going to see with any garage tile.

If you were to look at the physical properties as far as PSI rating, etc you will find that it is virtually identical to any other 1/2" poly tile on the market, with the exception of Swisstrax. See below from the manufacturer specs.

1. Constructed of specially formulated materials to exacting specifications.
We use only 100% virgin polypropylene for strength and stability. Un-like PVC, vinyl and rubber, polypropylene is a naturally non-porous material that resists the infiltration of outside materials.

2. ASTM is the American Society for Testing and Materials and is the standard for materials and safety testing. Underwriters Laboratories uses many of their tests to independently qualify products for safety. You can find out more about ASTM at www.astm.org . The following are a few tests that apply to your product and will help in selling to commercial builders, home builders and architects:

 Engineered to be slip resistant, even when wet. This product is ASTM (test ASTM E303) certified at an optimal .66 dry and .50 wet friction co-efficient. Generally anything over .75 is considered a tripping hazard because it is too tacky, anything less than .30 is considered a slipping hazard. This product is optimized for safety

 Class 1 rating for critical radiant flux at .66 watts/cm2 (ASTM test E 648). This is an important test which relates to the amount of energy it takes to ignite a substance. Anything above .45 receives a class 1 is the highest rating and means the product can be used in schools hospitals and other public facilities.

 Smoke generation rating of 320 (ASTM E662), the standard for residential use flooring is 450 or less.

3. The durable top surface stands securely on 793-½” support legs making this product one of the most durable on the market. This design is rated at a max 200 psi (an average car is about 35 psi). In additional to its strength, this design allows the concrete to breathe decreasing the possibility of mold or mildew growth.

4. Like the other [Omitted] accessories, the modularity of the flooring offers a high level of flexibility. Not only does this give the customer the ability to use her imagination when designing the floor, damaged tiles can be replaced (even in the center of the floor) the floor can be expanded as people can afford or transferred to a new location. If the customer tires of the design, the floor can even be disassembled, redesigned and re-assembled.

5. The patented locking system allows easy removal and replacement of a single tile if damaged. A ½” putty knife is recommended to slide between the tiles at each lock. Pushing gently toward the “lock” side of the tile will disengage it allowing to be pulled away from the loop.

6. Although polypropylene is a hard, durable plastic, it is still substantially softer than concrete (about 25%) making it both a safe play area and comfortable work area.

7. Installation does not require any surface preparation. Stains, cracks even pealing paint can be easily covered and forgotten. There are no messy glues anchors or adhesives used; the locking system holds the tile securely in place.

8. Installation time is minimal. A standard garage can be covered in less than an hour.

9. Maintenance requirements are extremely low. A regular cleaning with a damp mop and citrus cleaner will keep the floor like new for years. Any chemical spills should be cleaned immediately. The better the customer understands product limitations, the happier they will be with the product. If necessary, the floor can be taken apart in large sections and deep cleaned outside of the garage.

10. Life expectancy of a well maintained floor is at least 15 years.
