Compressor Motor

Saylor-Beall 5 hp, two stage, 80 gallon. Only downside was it came with a 3 phase motor.

Is there any better place to pick up a new single phase electric motor other than this deal for a new baldor for $260 delivered? http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-5HP-BALDOR-...ryZ41499QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Only suggestion I have is before you spending $$ try your local compressor dealer, Creigs list, or an electric motor repair for any used motors.

IMO the 3# converter are too much.

Yeah, do you have any electric motor shops in your town? They're usually in an industrialized zone over by the industrial supply stores.

Haven't had any luck on craigslist or the local places I know of, but I'll try making some more calls.

My motor has the same motor and frame number as the one on ebay you referenced. I thinks that’s a good deal on that motor. You will probably need a magnetic starter too.

I bought that exact motor from that exact dealer on ebay. I haven't used it yet, so I can't speak to that, but Baldor has never let me down, and they shipped it fast and packaged it very well. I would highly recommend buying from them.

They don't seem so big until you start trying to mount them.

Forgive my ignorance, but what the hell is that thing??? Looks neat whatever it is... like a drill press and an air compressor had a one-night-stand!
