Hello Everyone,

I need some "advice". I have searched but did not find an answer to this question.

I have just started prepping for epoxy and have etched my floor 2 times now with a 1:1 Muriatic Acid:Water ratio and there are spots where it is not quite the texture of 100 grit sandpaper. In these spots it appears to be divots where I may have power washed the sand out of it so it is not quite smooth but not quite rough either. Will this be sufficient to coat over once dry?

On a side note when I did etch and rinsed I ended up washing a lot of sand out of the garage during the rinse. I assume this is normal???

Thanks everyone!

I'd patch the imperfections with a good epoxy filler and do your epoxy job.

How large are the divots? I regret not filling more imperfections before my epoxy job, they show up more on the shiny floor. I etched once, photos attatched:

Wow! Great job on the floor!

I must have good taste, because I chose the same color epoxy and flakes...
I hope mine comes out close to as nice as yours.

Question though, did you use any non-slip in the top or middle coat?

Couple of times I have read that people regretted using it as it made mopping
and sweeping much more difficult.

The divots are small about the size of sand granules.

I like your floor regguy1, I'm doing almost the same colors (epoxy and chips) and still haven't decided if I will chip the floor or not though, depends on how the solid primer coat looks..

I wouldn't bother filling if they're only the size of sand granules, mine had a few cracks and other things...filled some but missed a couple. The chips really make the floor stand out, I'd use them, look at this photo, without the chips it would look kinda plain

I used the non slip with the clear, Supercoat supplies it in a little bag, you can add it or not. It does make the squeegee drag a bit, not bad though.

Hey - sharp looking bench!! Is it metal? I would love to find some like that somewhere. The cabinets and drawers are perfect..looks great in your shop. Did you build them, buy them?
