i just anchored my A-frame onto an existing pad.....i was thinking about pouring concrete around the base of the frame for water run-off. Can i pour concrete onto existing concrete? or will it just break apart within a year......should i use grout?......should i drill holes into the existing base? please help.

Depends on a few things:

- Condition of the existing concrete. If it's cracking, the overlay will too.
- How thick the overlay will be. The thicker the better. Also determines what kind of concrete to use (normal or lightweight with pea gravel as large aggregate).
- Ability of the new concrete to bond to the old. Paints, dirt, grease, etc. will all fight this. You should clean it and apply a bonding agent / primer.
- How does the overlay affect drainage?

Would be easier to give a definitive answer if I could see a picture. I'm sure a few other things might come up looking at the pic.
