I'm currently planning out a farm workshop. I need to be able to park 10,000 lb tractors on the floor.

What thickness floor and driveway should I expect to need.

What thickness floor and driveway should I expect to need.

Tractors are not an issue as they have low ground pressure due to their large tires.

Semis and hard wheel forklifts are what need some what thicker floors.

The base is more important imho than the thickness of the top. 4" is sufficient with a very good compacted base that is 12" deep and the concrete is poured at a 4-5" slump and cured correctly for a week.

Start being cheap or shoddy with these things and it might not be.

I am in similar situation - planning farm shop. However: I will have semis with 12k steer axle (so 6k lb. over 11 tire width and killer might be 38,000 lb. crane at about 12k on each 15" wide wheel (grader tires) on counterweight end. Was planning 5 1/2" of 5,000 lb. mix. Enough??

Bar size and spacing?

6" of 4000lb with #4 bar 18" oc common around here.
