Great forum. Enjoying all the posts.
I’ve got a 25x25 concrete garage floor with concrete walls (finally!). The joint between the wall and the floor is a little rough in places.
I want to put something like hellfire on the floor and 3-4 inches up the wall in the hope that it will prevent water from seeping in under the wall when I hose the place out.
Two questions (ok-three): First, what is the best way to clean up the floor/wall joint? Best I can think of is to get a brick or three and scrub away. I don’t think a floor grinder will get that close. Maybe put a filet of epoxy (Simpson XP) in the joint?
Second, how do I get the product to look ok on a vertical surface? I read Hellfire is pretty thin and will run down. The walls are ply finish so very rough (which is ok). Just tape and paint? Maybe paint the walls first and the floor second?
Lastly, are we still acid washing floors? It’s been a while since I dropped by but I thought we were leaning away from acid washing out of concern for cracks and damaging the rebar. I don’t mind grinding the floor if it is better. There are some hairline cracks. Nothing could stick a razor into.
Thanks
