Condensate Pump

I have an add on condensate pump in my basement to move the condensate from my Geothermal heat pump to my sump pump pit. It runs about 35 feet total. It seems to be working fine for now, but I just saw some of the water that has probably been sitting there since September looks pretty gross. Unfortunately, the flexible 3/8 tubing can't really be sloped the entire distance and has some sags where water pools. I'm planning on pouring a bunch of vinegar into the pump for now, but is there a way to clean the line on a more regular basis, preferably automated?

On a side note, will those Gallo Guns work on flexible 3/8th tubing?

Lift the pump if you can, use a larger line, slope it and vent the top of the line so when the pump stops gravity will do the needful thing. Or arrange for more condensate, so the pump runs more often .

Instead of doing the run in the vinyl tubing, you could do it in pvc. Larger diameter and it will also hide it from view so you don't have to worry as much

I had a condensate pump in my last house that got a little scummy looking but ran fine for the 8ish years thay I lived there. Not sure how much it's really worth worrying about

Are you seeing the scummy water in the pump basin? Give it a good flushing if it hasn't run since September, pour warm water, like a gallon or two, then vinegar directly into the basin. Annual maintenance.

Also, a bit of soap (a small chuck of ivory works well) in the pump basic will reduce the surface tension and help the water drain more easily.
