Converting a Beacon Morris heater to LP

I have a new 75,000 BTU Beacon Morris propeller heater which I am converting from nature gas to LP gas using the manufactures provided conversion kit. I have replaced the orifice and the gas valve spring but I am not sure how to adjust the gas valve pressure without a manometer or service call. It requires 10 inches water column. Is it possible to adjust the gas valve by viewing the flame (all blue except for yellow tips)? I could buy a monometer gauge for less than $40 but I am not sure how to connect it.
