Craftsman floor model drill press

I added a CRAFTSMAN floor model drill press to my vintage tool collection yesterday. #103.23140. It appears to have been used very little by overall condition. I need to figure out how to get the staining off of the paint and how to clean the trim on the motor. I plan to leave it as is. Any change of finding an owners manual or even a reprint? Can't wait to send my non USA made drill press out the door on CL. Jim

Young: Since your Craftsman DP has the slo drive here is one of the best looking front switches I've seen. Ryan of GJ put it on his bandsaw when he changed it so a metal/wood bandsaw instead of just a wood one. it might be worth putting a switch in front of your DP so you can start and stop it without reaching around it.

also as far as cleaning i use Simple Green which works pretty good and there are a lot of methods. if you have some stubborn over spray on original paint i hear soaking a paper towel in SG and setting it on the old paint and even putting some plastic over that to keep the moisture in then it will remove the old paint. don't leave it on too long because it might take off original paint too.

For cleaning the engine turned trim on the DP and motor, try rubbing with a wad of Nevr-Dull polishing wool. Rub, buff, rub, buff, repeat until you can't take it anymore.

This is the best thing I've found for cleaning the trim without ruining the engine turnings.
