Crimping Connectors

When crimping a uninsulated **** connector, which side does the seam on the connector go, toward the male part of the crimping tool, or away from it ? I've heard of it being done both ways. I appreciate any advice you can give me.

I always crimp (or try to) with the seam at male side. But... I'm not saying that is the 'right' way to do it, it is just how I do it!

The seam goes toward the male die. You want the seam to roll inward.

I have always crimped the full side on insulated and non insulated. When crimping on the seam, it pushes the connector apart. Right or wrong, that is the way it works best for me.

I would avoid the terminals with open seams, altogether.

If the connector is spreading apart then the female die is too large for the connector.

I never really thought of it that way. I am going to have to go out and try it out, Thanks for the tip!
