How do you guys store crowsfeet in your box? I’d like to keep them together and organized as much as possible and for now I’ve got them on an old unused socket rail but it seems like a waste of space just looking at it. Thanks.

I use 3/8 square bars , just slide them on. They came with the set of crowd pot wrenches.
I have seen homemade holders made from a piece of 3/8 key stock.Drill holes near the end and slide an R clip to keep the wrenches from sliding off Àlso have a piece of wood that I ripped to 3/8square that I keep one set on. Could even slide them onto a piece of dowel .

I like the Snapon solution. It is about $7.00 on the website (here).

For 3/8 drive, I use Gearwrench or Carlyle/Napa socket racks with the crowfeet opposed to each side. It worked better for me then the Snap-on or square stock holders as I didnt have to dig for the one in the middle. They also stack sort of, so as not to take up as much space. The 1/2 drive crowfeet just got placed in the drawer without a holder. Too much weight.

I prefer a basic socket rail. Not a fan of the stacked together organizer.

I just saw that Tekton offers both the stick option, similar to the Snap On posted above, and a more handy rack on their website. The rack seems to be better as you can simply pull out each size without digging. I think they were $10 but not sure if they are universal for other brand's crows feet.

Edit- just checked the Tekton website and it says the racks are custom designed for the Tekton crows feet and recommends the crows foot stick for a universal holder.

I had never seen this style before.

You don’t have to dig with the snap on rail , it’s two piece design . You just separate at the size you want . The only one your sliding off the rail is The one you want

The Tekton racks are nice. I have the 3/8 sets. Only thing I wish on the new 1/2" was that the racks covered the whole range. The 1/2" racks top out at 1 1/4" and 32mm.

$0.99 at HF. I alternated mine like Freudianfloyd.

You can slide off the socket holders you don't need to give you more room.

Same as these guys....Metal socket rail and alternate which way they point. Cheap and easy. Can look and see the size you need and grab it before I even have the drawer all the way open.

all thread with a nut on each end. I rarely use them, so the inconvenience of accessing one is outweighed by the small storage footprint.

If you value space, the Snap On is awesome. And it makes it easy to access any size, individually, without moving others. I have almost no SO, but it's worth the $

This is where I’m at. I know I won’t need them enough to matter, but I don’t want to burn up already limited drawer space storing them more than I have to.

I dealt with the wasted drawer space for a long time by keeping them in the plastic trays they came with. Eventually decided it was time to organize it better since I was running out of room. They aren't used all that often, and socket rails wouldn't have been any better than the original storage trays so I simply used square key stock and drilled each end. I chose to use a roll pin on one end and an R clip on the other end. You could always use R clips on each end so you can access them from either side.

It's not inconvenient in the least stored this way. Cheap and effective. Did it with both the 3/8 drive and 1/2 drive crows feet.

I follow the KISS principle. No need to waste a lot of space on these.

A plastic magnetic tape on the side of the drawer keeps these seldom used tools out of the way and takes virtually no drawer space.

Threw 2 of these together for my sets. Used some scrap aluminum and JB weld, mainly to see how I like it or not. Previously they were just floating around my socket drawer so this is an improvement and thus far a space saver. Been working well for my needs over the last year but at some point I'm going to redo them and add a magnetic bottom to them so they stay put when the set leaves the box.

3/8 keystock here. Be imaginative. Make a handle. Good to go. No I never made a handle. Just the key stock. With a snap/pull pin to hold them together. Maybe thread the key stock and use nuts?? No space wasted. 10-4

Crowsfoots are currently living on cheap HF socket rails, alternating left/right and trimmed to fit the sets.

I did this with steel rails - set on edge, two sets take up no more room than a rail of 1/2" drive or maybe even 3/8 " drive sockets.

I also like the suggestion of sticking them magnetically on a drawer side. I already do that with a bit set and will probably do that with a couple of other sets on rails (getting actual magnetic rails, not tape).

What Toolbed service did you use? Self, Designer or Scanner?

How much did the crowfoot foam cost?

Seth

I did the designer option as most of my tools are in the system. Really hoping they bring the scanner version to NA soon for my specialty tools. Cost was quite reasonable and they ship fast too. I’d highly recommend them.
