Hi all does anyone know if other fittings will work with other csst, I know that all the companies state to only use their fittings but I was wondering why, comparing different csst the metal corrugations all look alike. I'm not doing this but I just wanted to know because seems like a lot of leftover csst is available from job sites but the fittings are far and few between and I know you have to be certified to install. This is just a fact finding mission, has anyone used another companies fittings for another companies csst? Thanks

I think it has to do with the UL listing. Even if another fitting will fit or work, dont do it. If you ever have a fire and the discover improper fittings were used, good luck getting paid. The CSST is cheap, its the fittings that cost some bucks. Also you have to make sure its properly bonded (grounded) there was a big lawsuit over this as lightning was blowing holes in the stuff. Me, I would just use black iron pipe and leave the flimsy tubing for water and wire
