torque wrench I suppose.This thing is built pretty stout. I'm impressed with it.
What would be a the best way to turn it while providing a good feel so I don't over-torque the filter?
It has both a 3/8 drive and an outside hex to hook a wrench on.

I've always been of mind that filters are only screwed on hand tight. not with a fulcrum ( wrench)

You're never going to over-torque the oil filter when installing because you don't install it with a wrench.
To take it off there's no limit to torque as long as it comes off.

The spec on my Toyota is 17.5 N-m (approx. 153 inch pounds) which I use a torque wrench to establish. I've got the tool to do it right so why do it wrong? Look up an old thread of mine where it took six pages of guesses, opinions and ******** before a Toyota tech provided me with the answer I was looking for.

The oil pan blocks me from getting my hand all the way around the filter. The oil pan is actually cut out to allow for the filter to mount right up next to it.
