Hi,

I have half a dozen different battery platforms and by far the worst are the older Ryobi 18/40V ones when it comes to their life span.

Are the current Ryobi 40V batteries any better than the older ones when it comes to their life expectancy?

Since the 40V are for outdoor stuff the only other platform that could fit that bill I have is DeWalt but I am not sure if they are any good for what I need.

Which is a weedwacker and a small push mower and I am also looking for battery options only.

Thoughts?

Thank you.

I've been saddled with Ryobi battery powered tools received as gifts for twenty years. Each succceding generation of batteries and chargers failed as randomly as the previous. As Einstein said, "One definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Buying more Ryobi batteries fits that model.
