First post on here guys. been sand-baging for a while though..
I bought an old compressor and a bunch of odd parts and need help identifying some of the stuff.
First is a Curtis compressor and tank.
the compressor head is a #40 37 1799 (3 x 3 1/2)
It is a flat belt flywheel with a centrifugal unloader. but I am missing the unloader lever. <<< as you can see I have been trying to do my homework here.
this is some info on the tank...
16x36 [MB] rated to 150 psi
looks like tank was repainted at one point, but after a quick wire brush it looked 100% better. the sides are steal with a braised seam, the one rounded end looks brass or a coating of brass??? the convex side is steal. I'll post up some pics of that when i take them tomorrow.
I pressure washed out the inside and its looking good in there so far, but I need to set up a hydro test rig to give it the final word.
Here are some details of the electric motor I got with it...
Century repulsion start induction single phase motor
type RS
frame 91-AC3-3
hp 3/4
volts 110/220
amps 10.2/5.1
cycles 60
rpm 1750
S.N. G13593
Ill post these pics in my next posts...
the motor starts up real nice and smooth! the old repulsion start motors are a sweet thing
all the stop valves on the compressor are stamped Curtis, pretty cool! and I got a really cool Curtis guage with it also
So, I have looked at a few threads on Curtis compressors and havent found one like it. trying to find the age of this tank and head unit and where to score some parts for it if needed. also looking for details of this 40 size pump, and where to score either a flat belt and a flat pulley for the electric motor, or convert the pump to a v belt. the guy was running the v belts on the flat pulley, is that a big no no?
