Just picked up a used 75K Dayton Natural Gas Heater from my local nursery. Unfortunately I cannot locate any info on the web for instructions on installation. Can anyone direct me to a web site or supply me with directions to help my install? Thanks.

Dayton heaters are sold through Grainger. I poked around on their website and found a 75,000 btu gas heater, although I don't know if it's the same model you have: Link to heater in Grainger catalog
They don't seem to have installation instructions posted on their website, but you could call their parts line at 1-800-323-0620 to see if they can help.

I was thinking of placing the unit in the back corner of the garage along the outside wall and venting horizontally. The only problem I can see is that the horizontal run to the wall will not be the required 5 feet. Although in the directions I downloaded, it stated that a 90 degree turn is considered 5 feet. From what I understand, that is correct, although all the different applications/instructions/code make me not 100% sure of anything. A simple tech call should answer that for ya. All manufacturers recommend a minimum 1 foot of straight pipe off the back of the unit. Be sure to do that.
If there is an attic and roof above you garage I recommend going vertical. It looks better and seems just more natural to me.
