Dayton low profile 30k btu LPG ??

I have a 1400 sf garage that I have separated with a center partition. So I am looking at heating an area 26 x 28 with 10 ft ceilings. Had considered a Dayton electric G73. Also considered gas and would have liked a Modine Hot Dawg heater.

What I found and ended up with was a Dayton 30k btu low profile propane heater. New in the box for $250. All in all I think a pretty decent buy. This same heater delivered to my door, I found for $440.

The garage is insulated with 2" blueboard under the slab, 3" open cell foam in the walls and I am planning on blown FG in the ceiling R49. I am located in upstate NY.

Two questions........

In your best guess or experience will 30k do the job?...........and

Does anyone have experience specifically with the Dayton brand low profile heaters? Quality? Reliability, etc.?

A. Simply multiply the appropriate factor below in the chart and by your zone from the map by your home's total heated square footage to arrive at your required heating output.

For example, if you live in the yellow zone, your home is well insulated, and you have 2000 heated square feet:
Zone 3= 40 Btu’s per square foot (from the chart below)
Home square footage= 2000 square feet (your calculated total)
Now it is time to do a little math.
2000 square feet
X 40 Btu’ s per square foot
80,000 Btus (actual Btu’s needed)



Heating Square Footage Range by Climate Zone

Red ZONE 1 30 - 35 Btu's per square foot
Orange ZONE 2 35 - 40 Btu's per square foot
Yellow ZONE 3 40 - 45 Btu's per square foot
Green ZONE 4 45 - 50 Btu's per square foot
Blue ZONE 5 50 – 55btu's per square foot

On a side note, I'd suggest investigating blown in cellulose vs FG insulation for your attic. I think cellulose is much better for several reasons, mainly because FG loses R value as attic temps decrease. I spec'd cellulose for our house build.
