Devoe no acid wash?

I'm choosing devoe for a basement as it cheaper, seems to have worked for people here, and I'm friends with the guys there. I was reading the instructions and it says acid etch or shot blast.224hs http://www.duspec.com/DuSpec2/produ...HS&documentType=datasheet&submit=Get+Document

My floor is older but I have grinded it off, mostly it was just dirty and a few spills. this seems a little contrary to not acid etch but that's what it says.

My question is does anyone know or have experience that would agree or disagree with not acid etching in this case? thanks

Oh now I see a similiar thread below. But devoe is thinner than the wolverine I think so maybe acid etch is the way to go.

I don't have any experience with Wolverine, so i can't compare them. But i must say that the 224HS is a really thick product.
Just had to add a little bit of thinner, or else it would just tear the roller to shreds.

Me and my dad did our 1100sqf floor about a month ago, we diamond grinded it all and it seems to stick just fine.

We ordered from Original Color Chips Company and paid $40 per gallon for the 224HS and $4 per pound of chips. I don't remember what we paid for the clearcoat, will have to check the order confirmation.

The 224HS seems to me to be a really strong product for it's cost, and i would absolutely recommend it. It is a semi-gloss product and does not give as much "mirror-effect" as some others but that really doesen't bother me.

We did two coats on our floor with 10 gallons, i wouldn't have gambled on ordering less.
The clearcoat we used was HPU also from OCC, and we did one coat with just two 1,5 gallon kits (well below estimate ). If i was to do another floor, i think i would put down two coats of it as it goes so easy and fast on, really not much extra trouble.

Anyways, OCC was very helpful as customer service goes, and all the paint incredibly made it all the way to Norway undamaged.
